A new restaurant that pays homage to the iconic General Post Office that once occupied the same site opens this week at the InterContinental Wellington.

Situated on Cuba Street, one of Wellington’s most electric and charismatic areas, Naumi Wellington has just opened its doors to guests. The hotel marks the seventh property for disruptor hotel brand, Naumi Hotels, which is trailblazing the eclectic boutique hotel space in the Asia Pacific region with its colorful design and style overseen by leading New Zealand designers, Material Creative.

Wellington’s future as a business events destination has been assured with Wellington City Council giving the green light for the new Conference and Exhibition Centre (CEC). Construction on the 18,000-square-metre CEC, which features 10,000-square-metres of dedicated convention space spread across its top two floors and a 1,650-square-metre ground-floor exhibition gallery to accommodate touring exhibitions, is set to start next year, said Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency.

Fiji Airways will next week take delivery of its first new narrow-body aircraft, as the first oneworld Connect  airline further enhances the inflight experience for guests travelling to Fiji on the full service airline.
