Australia travellers heading to the United States in 2024 continued to push above their weight in terms of spend and stay, with numbers up 7.4% year-on-year to 1.025 million, according to Visit USA Organisation.

Australian travel agencies have a clear thirst for the United States as the destination regains its popularity despite a struggling Australian dollar and upcoming Presidential election, says Caroline Davidson, President of the Visit USA Australia organisation.

The Visit USA Expo Series 2024 kicked off yesterday with a solid turnout from both agents and exhibitors, marking the first of a three-day series across Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney. Hosted at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, the Expo provided a dynamic setting for more than 230 travel agents to connect with more than 80 US exhibitors.

More than 50 media, members and partners in the US travel industry in Australia came together on Thursday morning to celebrate Thanksgiving, and give thanks for its long-standing partnerships and friendships, and the new ones forged over the last twelve months.

This week’s Visit USA Expo lured hundreds of travel agents to events in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, with each showcase bringing with it buzzing entertainment, exceptional exhibitors and delicious food and prizes.

The Visit USA National Expo tour wrapped up in Sydney at Luna Park on Wednesday night. The event was attended by more than 350 agents who mingled with over 60 exhibitors, here to share the latest and greatest of travel in the US.

As the finale event, Sydney was the strongest of the three shows yet at Visit USA’s Expo Week that wrapped up on Wednesday night with over 350 agents filling the Hilton Sydney’s ballroom.
