Viking has opened for sale a selection of ocean cruises in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Alaska departing up to April 2024, offered aboard Viking Orion.

Viking will deploy its next ocean ship to Australian waters in its debut year, the cruise line has revealed. Viking Mars, the newest and eighth vessel in its class, was floated out for the first time last week at the Ancona shipyard of Fincantieri in Italy.

Viking has opened bookings and revealed deployment details of a selection of ocean ships between September 2021 and May 2022, including the return of Viking Orion to her seasonal Sydney and Auckland home ports between December 2021 and March 2022 – her fourth consecutive season based down under.

Viking Cruises’ fifth ocean ship, Viking Orion, arrived in Darwin today [Tuesday 4 December 2018] for the very first time, and travel agents can’t wait to get on board. As part of Viking’s popular Komodo & the Australian Coast Bali to Sydney itinerary, Viking Orion is currently docked in Darwin. She will then continue on to a selection of other iconic Australian destinations including Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and Newcastle before reaching her Australian home port, Sydney, on 16 December.
