Tourism Fiji cites cruise sector for “immense economic” input
Fiji has recorded its highest-ever overseas visitor arrivals, breaking through the 1 million mark for the first time in 2024. The South Pacific holiday hotspot for Aussie travellers welcomed more than 982,938 tourists by air —up 5.7 compared to the 2023 result — and just shy of 82,000 cruise ship passengers last year.

“People are hijacking the word luxury,” says Anthony Goldman
Anthony Goldman, Joint Managing Director of Goldman Group has continued his messaging on the need for improved transparency and definitions of the term ‘luxury’ travel. Speaking at the Goldman Group Conference in Melbourne on Saturday, Goldman said the word has become cannibalised by “people” wanting to capitalise on the growth of high-end travel, more so since the pandemic.
