Passengers aboard Oceanwide Expeditions’ Antarctica – Beyond the Polar Circle – Wilkins Ice Shelf – Aurora Australis voyage were treated to an extraordinary sight on the night of 25-26 March 2025, when the Aurora Australis, or Southern Lights, lit up the Antarctic sky in a breathtaking display.

Croatia’s Brodosplit shipyard in Split has launched Oceanwide Expeditions’ latest vessel, the 179-passenger Janssonius.

Oceanwide Expeditions has made a series of key upgrades to its three cruisers, Plancius, Ortelius, and Hondius, in preparation for the 2020 Antarctic season. In addition to their usual mid-season checkups, these vessels received multiple renovations: updated cabins for Plancius; a dining room and crew area makeover for Ortelius; and more user-friendly gangways for Polar-Class-6 Hondius.
