NYC & Company, New York City’s destination marketing organisation and convention & visitors bureau, has reappointed The Walshe Group as the representative agency for Australia and New Zealand, handling sales, marketing, travel trade and public relations in the region.

New York City tourism officials have forecast visitor numbers from Australia to rise moderately in 2020, despite a struggling Australian dollar. NYC & Company senior brass were in the country last week as part of the Visit USA National tour, using the event to host a number of break-out functions of their own in Brisbane and Sydney.

NYC & Company and Broadway Inbound hosted a group of 10 Infinity agents to see Chicago the musical in Sydney. Chicago is the longest running American musical in Broadway history, running continuously since 1996 and winning a Tony Award the same year.

The Walshe Group brought together two dozen Virtuoso luxury travel advisors last Wednesday [18 September, 2019] to showcase three destinations the company represents in the Australian market. Representatives from Hawaii Tourism Oceania, Abu Dhabi Tourism and NYC&Co (the official marketing and tourism organisation of New York City) gathered at Studio Sydney Tower, where during a three-course dinner, they were briefed on some of the latest developments in the luxury space.

Four luxury-specialist travel agents from Sydney and Perth, were recently hosted by NYC & Company and Singapore Airlines on a global luxury sales mission to New York City in January.
