Construction on Fiji’s newest five-star resort, Vatu Talei – The Jewel on Denarau Island in Nadi, is forging ahead, making good progress towards its opening date in late 2026.

Fiji Airways this week commenced its longest flight and first-ever direct service between Nadi and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. The new service operates three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays initially, with seamless connections between Australia and Fiji.

oneworld has announced that Fiji Airways will become its 15th full member airline. Fiji Airways has had a presence in the oneworld alliance for the past five years as a oneworld connect partner. During that time, the airline has developed cooperative links with all oneworld member airlines, paving its way to a more seamless integration as a full oneworld member.

Fiji Airways will relaunch services between Nadi and Adelaide, effective 4 July 2022, after a three hiatus. The news was revealed at the opening of the Fijian Tourism Expo which kicked off in Nadi last night.

Qantas has relaunched services to Fiji for the first time in nearly 20 years, with a new direct flight from Sydney taking off today in time for the April school holidays.

Qantas has today confirmed its restart of direct flights from Sydney to Fiji, meeting a growing demand from customers wanting a premium travel option to the South Pacific tourist hot-spot.

Fiji Airways will next week take delivery of its first new narrow-body aircraft, as the first oneworld Connect  airline further enhances the inflight experience for guests travelling to Fiji on the full service airline. 

Qantas has signalled its intent to restart non-stop services between Australia and Fiji next year. The Aussie carrier this week applied to the International Air Services Commission, seeking rights to relaunch flights commencing 31 March using narrow-body Boeing 737 aircraft.
