Refurbished MS Trollfjord recommences historic route from Bergen to Longyearbyen
Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express has recommenced sailings between the Norwegian mainland and Svalbard for the first time since 1982. MS Trollfjord set sail from Bergen on Saturday on its way to Longyearbyen on the Svalbard Express route. The voyage was fully booked with both tourists and cargo on board.

Following in the footsteps of the ‘green machine’ MS Roald Amundsen
Hurtigruten has confirmed it will convert three of its existing ships to premium, hybrid-powered expedition ships. Utilising the same technology that is fuelling the Norwegian cruise company’s newest ‘green ship’, MS Roald Amundsen, Hurtigruten plans to install battery packs to MS Trollfjord, MS Finnmarken and MS Midnatsol, relaunching them all by 2021 under new names and operating year-long itineraries along the Norwegian coastline.
