    Air New Zealand is launching new non-stop flights between Auckland and New York JFK commencing 17 September 2022.Subject to regulatory approvals, the Kiwi-carrier will operate the route three times per week on a year-round basis, using specially configured Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.Such is the significance of the route, Air New Zealand has dedicated its flight numbers NZ1 (JFK-AKL) and NZ2 (AKL-JFK) for the return New York flights.

    Lufthansa Group’s Supervisory Board has approved the purchase of a total of 40 state-of-the-art aircraft for the group’s airlines. The 20 Boeing 787-9 and 20 additional Airbus A350-900 planes will primarily be replacing four-engine aircraft. The new planes will be delivered between late 2022 and 2027.
