A deal has been struck for the construction of the already announced sister ship for AmaWaterways’s AmaMagna, with the new vessel to be built in Croatia by Vahali Shipyards.

AmaWaterways has started pairing its river cruises with ocean voyages, packaged through Australian wholesalers, to offer new ways to explore Europe.

AmaWaterways has announced a new Best of the Danube itinerary, sailing roundtrip from Budapest, with 15 departures in 2025 and 14 in 2026. The new itinerary launches in honour of “Rudi’s favourite cruise” – Rudi being AmaWaterways’ Co-Founder and President, Rudi Schreiner.

AmaWaterways will add a second double-width ship to its fleet, Kristin Karst, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of the river cruise operator has said.

AmaWaterways has added a second multi-ship, multi-river long-duration European itinerary for 2023. The new addition follows an “overwhelming response” to the recently released, and first-ever, Seven River Journey Through Europe scheduled for June 2023 which was “quickly filled,” AmaWaterways said.

AmaWaterways has christened its new wide-berth river ship, AmaMagna, at a ceremony in Grein, Austria. Company co-founders Rudi Schreiner and Kristin Karst, along with Godmother Samantha Brown, travel expert and Emmy Award-winning television host, as she officially christened AmaWaterways’ 23rd ship.
