Alaska Airlines has firmed up the launch date for its new nonstop service between Seattle and Seoul Incheon on Hawaiian Airlines.

Alaska Airlines has revealed a new Alaska Lounge at San Francisco International Airport’s Harvey Milk Terminal 1. The modern and spacious 1,000 square metre space delivers on Alaska Airlines’ promise to enhance its network of lounges and offers an unparalleled pre-flight experience with a welcoming West Coast vibe.

Alaska Airlines will acquire Hawaiian Airlines in a deal valued at approximately US$1.9 billion after the parent companies of each airline entered into a definitive agreement.

Alaska Airlines has outlined its commitment and roadmap to reduce the company’s carbon emissions to net-zero by 2040, and commitments across carbon, waste, and water impacts by 2025.

Alaska Airlines has revealed the date for its integration into the oneworld aviation alliance. Backed by American Airlines, 88-year-old Alaska Airlines will be the second US carrier to join the global group.

The oneworld airline alliance’s 13 members have committed to achieve net zero emissions in 30 years.

The oneworld global airline alliance will welcome Alaska Airlines as its 14th member airline and sister carriers Horizon Air and SkyWest Airlines as oneworld affiliate members around the end of 2020.

Oneworld has announced that Alaska Airlines intends to join the alliance by summer 2021. The partnership comes as the US carrier plans to form a US West Coast international alliance with oneworld founding member American Airlines.
