The Boeing Company’s Chairman, David L. Calhoun, has this week assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer, following the sudden resignation of Dennis A. Muilenburg in the wake of the 737 MAX fiasco.

Qantas has today announced that it favours the Airbus A350-1000 for its potential non-stop ultra-long haul flights from the Australian eastcoast ports to destinations including London and New York.

International Airlines Group (IAG) – the parent company of British Airways, Iberia and Vueling – has confirmed an order for 18 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, plus 24 options, for British Airways.

The Boeing 777X jet will feature a 71.5-metre wingspan when in flight – longer than that of the 747-8 Intercontinental – providing an enormous amount of lift capability. When activated, the wingtips will rise upwards and reduce 777X’s wing span to 64.5 metres.
