Aurora Expeditions is helping guests escape the crowds and ring in the New Year in one of the most exciting locations on Earth. Replace fireworks and fire crackers with nature’s best light show and celebrate under the midnight sun, surrounded by sparkling blue icebergs.

Flying directly into Antarctica from Punta Arenas, Chile, guests are immediately immersed in the raw beauty of Antarctica’s spectacular landscapes. The next week will be spent exploring the Antarctic coastline and its offshore islands, landing ashore to roam freely amongst penguins, cruising past ice flows covered in seals, and photographing the magnificently shaped ice that dominates the scenery.

Aurora Expeditions’ expert team will do all the organising to host one of the best New Year celebrations ever, where guests can expect drinks and a dance floor on the bow, crazy costumes and the obligatory Auld Lang Syne – and, with any luck, even a surprise show by some of the locals.

Aurora Expeditions are offering a special New Year Group Discount for their upcoming 2016 New Year in Antarctica expedition. When guests book as a party of four or more, each person will save 15 per cent on the voyage fare, while parties of seven or more will save 20 per cent per person.

Single travellers can also join the party and make new friends with a 10 per cent single traveller discount on shared cabins or a reduced single supplement for sole-use cabins.

The New Year in Antarctica expedition starts in Punta Arenas, Chile on 25 December 2016 with a South American Christmas feast before flying to Antarctica on 26 December to board 54-passenger ship Polar Pioneer. The trip ends in Ushuaia, Argentina on 4 January 2017. The 11-day expedition starts from US$10,200 per person, twin share (excluding discounts).
