Renaissance Tours has reported a strong uptake in its newly expanded collection of Day Tours available in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.
A full suite of options has been introduced throughout spring centred around themes including Art, Architecture, Gardens and Gourmet, led by specialist tour leaders while offering the same high standard Renaissance Tours’ guests would expect on a full-length tour.
A number of day tours form part the World Art Tours program organised by the Art Gallery Society of NSW in partnership with Renaissance Tours.
In Sydney, options include;
- Explorations of the Gardens of Sydney’s Hills District visiting English- and French-inspired properties.
- A walking tour of Sydney to learn about the architecture of the city’s skyscrapers.
- An Art Deco Sydney trip that uncovers architectural gems, led by fashion designer Claudia Chan Shaw.
- The Bondi Food & Art Trail.
- A discovery of Asian bakeries and cafes.
- A behind-the-scenes tour of Sydney’s newest museum; the Chau Chak Wing Museum which opens in mid-November.
Such has been the popularity some day tours already have a waitlist, such as the Jumjum Garden and the Yarramalong Valley excursion to the Central Coast (also ex Sydney), requiring a second departure.
In Canberra, Renaissance Tours is offering a Private Gardens of the National Capital with garden writer and former ABC radio presenter Genevieve Jacobs in November.
Options in Melbourne have currently been put on hold due to Victoria’s coronavirus travel restrictions, but are planned to be rolled out in due course, likely in the first half of 2021.
Renaissance Tours’ Managing Director Evan Petrelis told LATTE the trips had proven immensely popular since the release of a dedicated brochure to its audience last week.
“We’ve had a lot of fun putting these together and they are selling like hotcakes, so there’s obviously demand from people to get out and about, even if just for the day,” Petrelis remarked.
“As the reopening of our domestic borders is still somewhat uncertain, it might be a few months still before we can travel even beyond our home states. In the meantime, spring has arrived and it’s time to venture out of our homes and rediscover some of the joys of our own backyards,” he said.
The one-day program builds on the Australian travel company’s recent domestic touring program development, which you can read about here. That included the launch of a day tour to the Quarantine Station at North Head, Sydney.
Renaissance Tours’ Day Tours are priced between $275 and $575 per person and are commissionable to travel advisors. The current collection of spring itineraries can be viewed in an eBrochure here.
