Scenic has this afternoon confirmed construction of its highly-anticipated second Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, is in its final stages of development and “progressing as planned” for its maiden sailing in six-months.

The ultra-luxury yacht, featuring state-of-the-art technology and an innovative design, is on track for its inaugural voyage – the 11-day Incredible Iberian Discovery, from Lisbon to Barcelona, departing 13 April 2023.

Scenic Eclipse II is a sister ship to the original Discovery Yacht which debuted in August 2019. Like Scenic Eclipse, the 114-suite six-star vessel will feature two helicopters, plus a new, larger 8-passenger Triton submarine.

The development of the ship build is showcased in a newly released video (view below) with Scenic’s Vice-President of Marine Operations, James Griffiths.

James Griffiths, Vice President of Marine Operations at Scenic said: “Scenic Eclipse II is being built to the very highest standards, so she is really built from the bottom up to operate in the most extreme environments in the world and includes all the latest technologies available. She is able to go places that the absolute vast majority of cruise ships are unable to visit. We are also the only operator to carry two permanent helicopters^ and a submarine^ on board and add a unique perspective for our guests, by flying high above and also diving 200 metres below the ocean.”

Scenic Eclipse is the ultimate ultra-luxury yacht to cruise in regions around the world,” Griffiths added.

New enhancements aboard Scenic Eclipse II include an expansion of the steam room area within the Senses Spa, to include aromatherapy and integrated ice fountain and experience showers.

Additionally, Scenic Eclipse II will see the introduction of KLAFS custom salt therapy lounge with heated beds, enhanced with aromatherapy scents designed to benefit mind, body and soul. Building on the success of Scenic Eclipse I state-of-the-art KLAFS Infrared chairs found in the Senses Spa and designed to relieve back pain and encourage muscle relaxation, an expanded dedicated infrared ‘ocean view’ lounge with colour light therapy to energise and reinvigorate skin cells has also been introduced into the wellness area on board Scenic Eclipse II.

Deck 10 of Scenic Eclipse II also features a new bar area with indoor and outdoor seating. And as previously revealed by LATTE, Deck 10 will also feature a large, oval-shaped pool with relaxation space. The ideal venue for sail-away deck parties.
