Discovery Yacht to be showcased on Discovery

Docuseries filmed aboard Scenic Eclipse to reach audience of 10+ million

A new docuseries focused entirely on Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours’ superyacht, Scenic Eclipse, has the potential of reaching more than 10 million viewers globally and creating greater awareness for the ultra-luxury cruise operator in new markets.

A new partnership between Scenic and Warner Bros. Discovery takes a deep dive into the inner workings of everyday life aboard the six-star Scenic Eclipse. The global media partnership will extend to 120 countries in 20 languages, launching next month in Australia and New Zealand, the USA and Canada, and the UK in June. The docuseries will then expand into the EMEA markets from July, providing greater exposure in to those undertapped regions of the globe.

Maritime Masters: Expedition Antarctica is a five-part series that was filmed by Discovery in collaboration with the production company, Dundas Media – with whom Scenic has worked on multiple projects over the past few years through Getaway – on the journey from San Diego to Antarctica last season.

The show centres on three core pillars aboard Scenic Eclipse – technology, culinary and discovery, through the eyes of the Captain and the bridge, the Chef and culinary journey and the Expedition Leader and off-ship experiences. Guests will follow the day-to-day activities of Captain Erwan le Rouzic, Director of Food & Beverage Chef Tom Goetter and Expedition Operations Director Jason Flesher.Revealing the partnership in Sydney yesterday ahead of a global release this morning, Anthony Laver, Scenic Group GM Sales & Marketing APAC said the project had been under development for several months and is all unscripted.

“These are real people working on a real ship, with real-life dramas and real-life situations, and it’s all behind the scene. No one has ever done it to this depth, ever,” Laver said.

Maritime Masters’ maiden episode premieres in Australia on Sunday 14 May on Discovery Channel on Foxtel and will air internationally from mid-May. It will also be available to view on Foxtel Now, Foxtel Go and Binge.
