Leading global hotel brand, BWH Hotels, has appointed Rod Munro Managing Director of Operations for Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to Vice President of International Operations for Asia Pacific, Olivier Berrivin, Munro will focus on expanding the brand’s presence in the region and leading a new era of growth and success for BWH Hotels, including WorldHotelsTM, Best Western® Hotels & Resorts and SureStay Hotels®.To welcome Munro into his new role, BWH Hotels hosted a small media networking event at Aiden Darling Harbour on Thursday 5 October 2023. Aiden Darling Harbour opened in 2022 and is BWH Hotel’s newest boutique accommodation offering, the first of its kind to launch in Australasia. However, two more Aiden hotels are planned for Brisbane in 2024, and in Perth’s Sydney Charles Quarter in 2026, to further meet the needs of travellers in the affordable luxury space looking for boutique stays in key destinations.

Munro has a global career spanning more than 20 years of hospitality operations experience, including positions at Stamford Hotels & Resorts and Accor’s Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit and Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit. On Thursday afternoon, Munro spoke of the potential for growth and development within the BWH Hotels portfolio, and the future evolution of its brands.
