“Virtuoso’s acceptance process is incredibly selective, so becoming a preferred partner is a true honor,” said Martins. “The reputation Virtuoso member agencies have for outstanding dedication to their clients is a perfect fit with our own bespoke approach to service. Now that we’re part of this renowned network, we look forward to offering Virtuoso advisors and their clients the special amenities, values and experiences that surpass their expectations.”

Located on the border of Melbourne’s CBD and the leafy suburb of South Yarra, just a short walk from the Royal Botanical Gardens, Albert Park and National Gallery of Victoria, The Royce brings the golden age of hospitality back to the city, where services are led with discretion, indulgence is encouraged, and opulence expected.Comprising 94 guest rooms, the diverse range of room options includes 18 spacious, uniquely designed suites, many of which offer balconies with views of Melbourne’s CBD. Six two-storey loft-suites are of particular note – featuring original cornicing — once home to the original Rolls Royce mechanic workshop that once graced the site and inspired the hotel’s namesake.

Offering a discreet, 24-hour concierge service, guests enter through the lavish Lobby Lounge, reminiscent of old-world establishments that once played host to high society. Adjacent, they’ll find signature restaurant, Showroom Bar, featuring 9-metre-long bar top and plush furnishings, as well as a centrepiece 14-metre tall, curved marble fireplace and 2-metre-wide chandelier. A sweeping marble staircase curves elegantly around the side of the room, leading guests to the balcony above and through to The Royce’s Library and Ballroom.

The hotel’s rooms and suites are uniquely and intricately designed with state-of-the-art responsive technology making for the most luxurious of escapes. White Italian Carrera marble bathrooms are complete with hand cut glass alcoves and Molton Brown amenities.

As the sun rises, guests will awaken to breakfast in The Terrace, where timber parquetry floors guide them through the bright and airy room with hues of duck egg blue and coral, taking inspiration from the delicate botanical wallpaper, imported from Barcelona, that lines the walls.

For discerning business travellers, the hotel also offers three boardrooms, each named after the iconic businessmen that brought the building to life; the Henry Room, the Norris Room and the Kellow Room. Art deco decadence and opulent play is at the heart of The Royce, making it the ultimate hotel for both indulgent weekends away or business stays.

The Royce joins Virtuoso’s collection of the finest luxury hotels, resorts, cruise lines, airlines, tour operators and other travel entities worldwide. The Royce’s acceptance into Virtuoso gives it direct relationships with the world’s leading leisure travel agencies in North and Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.

In Melbourne, Virtuoso’s other Preferred hotels include Park Hyatt, Crown Towers, The Langham and United Places Botanical Gardens.
