Qatar Airways will reintroduce flights between its Doha hub and Toronto, with three weekly non-stop services set to recommence from 11 December 2024. During the pandemic (in 2020), Qatar Airways offered charter services to and from Toronto on a regular basis, primarily as a repatriation option.
Air Canada also previously operated flights between the two destinations on a codeshare basis with Qatar Airways, however the service fizzled after two years when the Canadian carrier pulled the pin. In March last year, Qatar Airways was in talks with the now defunct Canada Jetlines about a potential tie-up, which was also expected to have encompassed the Toronto-Doha route.
Now, Qatar Airways is committing to Toronto with its own metal. Toronto will be the Gulf carrier’s 14th gateway to the Americas, and its second destination in Canada, joining its Montréal daily service.

Operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, equipped with 42 award-winning Qsuite Business Class seats and 312 Economy Class seats, the new Toronto service will provide travellers from Canada and beyond with seamless access to destinations across Qatar Airways’ extensive global network, including Colombo, Bangkok, Delhi, Kathmandu and Mumbai.
“The Toronto route is a strong and enduring commitment towards providing Qatar Airways’ Canadian customers with the enhanced connectivity they deserve, as well as access to our world-leading service and Qsuite in-flight product,” said Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, CEO Qatar Airways.
“The addition of a fourteenth gateway to our Americas network is also a testament to our aim in maintaining a key presence across the local market, and cements our reputation as a reliable global connector.”
