Accor signs landmark Istanbul property to Fairmont

The Grand Tarabya to undergo extensive renovation before rebranding

Accor is poised to introduce a second Fairmont luxury branded hotel in Istanbul, Turkey following an extensive renovation of The Grand Tarabya.

Located in Istanbul’s upmarket Tarabya neighbourhood, the historic Grand Tarabya’s management was taken over by Accor on 31 December 2024.

The Grand Tarabya has long been a symbol of beauty and elegance, since its original opening as one of Turkey’s first five-star hotels in 1966, and its subsequent restoration and reopening in 2013. The property features 248 rooms and suites, 29 residences, seven distinct food and beverage venues, and an extensive wellness centre.

The hotel is now trading under a white label, managed by Accor, through until the completion of the renovation.

The Grand Tarabya will be fully rebranded as a Fairmont property, ensuring a seamless transition and integration of Fairmont’s signature brand markers, complemented by touches that celebrate the property’s rich heritage and vibrant local culture.

The Grand Tarabya occupies a unique and coveted position along the Bosphorus which has become one of the most desirable international locations for world-class hotels. The property offers stunning views and a tranquil waterfront location, from which travellers can enjoy the city, within a short drive to the capital’s cultural and historic attractions.

Fairmont’s other property in Turkey is Fairmont Quasar Istanbul which opened its doors in 2017.
