Scenic Group supports growth plans with two key promotions

Katherine O’Neill and Angus Crichton both have impressive new job titles

Scenic Group heavy hitters Katherine O’Neill and Angus Crichton have both been promoted to support the growth and expansion of the Scenic and Emerald Cruises fleets.

O’Neill, formerly Scenic’s Director of Global Marketing Strategy, will take on the position of Director Scenic Group Global Marketing and Branded Content. In this new role, she will work closely with Crichton to oversee Emerald Cruises’ brand development and content, while also collaborating closely with Scenic Group’s worldwide marketing teams.

Meanwhile, Crichton’s role has been expanded from Director Sales, Marketing & Product for Emerald Cruises Australia & New Zealand to Director, Emerald Cruises AU/NZ Sales, Marketing and Scenic Group Land Product. As such, he will now also oversee the Scenic Group’s expert Land Product team, developing Scenic and Emerald Tours’ luxury land journey portfolio. This will include small group escorted land journeys across destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Egypt, Europe, and North and South America.

The promotions come as the Scenic and Emerald Cruises portfolio of luxury brands continues to grow, with a significant expansion of its luxury cruise fleet on the cards. This includes the launch of the new superyacht, Emerald Kaia and the Emerald Astra Star-Ship on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers in 2026.

“We are excited to significantly expand the roles of Katherine O’Neill and Angus Crichton to support Scenic Group’s growth,” Anthony Laver, Scenic Group General Manager Sales & Marketing APAC said.

“Katherine and Angus have been integral to Scenic Groups growth over the past five years, working closely with Emma Davie, Rob Kalemba and Nathan Ting within the Sales and Marketing team, in collaboration with all the other key business units across the operations, reservations, IT and customer care. In Katherine’s new capacity, she will work develop the brand and core marketing content for both the Scenic and Emerald Cruises luxury river cruises and super yachts.”

Laver also highlighted the importance of Angus’ expanded role. “The development of Scenic and Emerald Tours land products, underscores the increasing demand for seamless land and cruising experiences,” he said.

“This connection between our smaller group escorted tours and cruising itineraries, is key to delivering the exceptional and seamless travel experiences that our values guests expect.”
