Zeavola Resort, a beachfront property on Thailand’s Phi Phi Island, will undergo a complete transformation and reopen as OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort in October 2025 following its acquisition by OUTRIGGER Hospitality Group.
This deal marks a significant step in the Hawaii-based company’s strategic expansion across Asia Pacific.
“Thailand remains one of the world’s most beloved travel destinations, and we are thrilled to bring our signature style of beachfront hospitality to this extraordinary location,” OUTRIGGER Hospitality Group President and CEO Jeff Wagoner said.

Located along a secluded white-sand beach on the island’s northern tip, the reimagined five-star resort will feature 63 suites and villas, with the redesign to blend OUTRIGGER’s hallmark “barefoot luxury” style with immersive cultural experiences and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. Both accommodations and shared spaces will be upgraded with the resort to temporarily close during the island’s shoulder season to begin the extensive renovation.
OUTRIGGER properties currently include award-winning resorts in Koh Samui, Khao Lak, and Phuket’s Surin Beach. The Phi Phi Island addition marks the group’s fourth operational property in Thailand, underscoring its long-standing relationship with the country’s tourism sector.
More details around the renovation and grand reopening will be released in the coming months, the company confirmed.
