These are the vessel’s last three scheduled voyages to the region

Scenic is offering travellers a rare opportunity to follow in the path of the world’s greatest explorers with a trio of expert-led Expedition Voyages to East Antarctica and the Ross Sea aboard Scenic Eclipse II.

Taking place between December 2025 and February 2026, these will be the luxury yacht’s last scheduled expeditions to this remote region, departing from New Zealand or Hobart.

“These journeys offer the chance to experience one of the world’s most awe-inspiring frontiers,” a statement said. The expeditions will be led by the same seasoned team behind the inaugural 2024/25 voyages, including Director of Discovery Operations Jason Flesher, Senior Captain Erwan Le Rouzic and Discovery Leader Jonathan Fuhrmann.

A highlight of these exclusive voyages is the participation of polar legends Robert Swan OBE and his son Barney Swan aboard the Antarctica’s Ross Sea: Majestic Ice & Wildlife voyage, departing 26 January 2026. As the first person to walk to both the North and South Poles, Swan began his South Pole journey in 1985, wintering beside Scott’s Hut and receiving a royal send-off from the Queen. He now leads the 2041 Foundation, which advocates for Antarctic preservation through sustainability.

Joining all three voyages is Ian Godfrey, Head Conservator at the Mawson’s Huts Foundation, whose expertise on Sir Douglas Mawson and Antarctic heritage will enrich the guest experience. “His deep knowledge and hands-on conservation work will provide deep insights,” Scenic said.

Featured itineraries include: Mawson’s Antarctica: Along the East Coast, departing 13 December 2025 from Queenstown to Hobart, priced from $41,635pp; Antarctica’s Ross Sea: Majestic Ice & Wildlife, departing 26 January 2026 from Timaru to Christchurch, priced from $41,970pp; and East Antarctica & Ross Sea: In the Wake of Mawson, departing 21 February 2026 from Hobart to Dunedin, priced from $46,486 per person.
