Last Updated

July 12, 2025

Ideally located steps from Casino Square, the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo enjoys a fabulous location overlooking the Mediterranean, the Rock, and the Port of Monaco.

Built in the early 1900s, its Belle Epoque architecture showcases the magnificent Eiffel cupola located in the Winter Garden and designed by Gustave Eiffel. Respecting its rich heritage, the hotel offers 262 rooms and suites, including 54 junior suites, 32 suites and 13 Diamond Suites with a perfect blend of authenticity and modernity, all decorated with classic furniture.

A new page has been written for the rooms of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo

The transformation was guided by a desire to breathe new life into the spaces of this mythical establishment. A contemporary rewrite of the Belle Époque spirit was carried out with precision and care. The difficulty lay in preserving the soul and spirit of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, while offering it contemporary variations, with precious and modern materials and details.

The Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo has unrolled its grand art de vivre score sheet. This characteristic guided the work of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer design office, which was in charge of the renovations. The project involved rethinking the decoration, the sequence of the rooms and interior volumes, and creating an offer aligned with the positioning of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.The number of keys was reduced in order to offer guests more spacious or connecting rooms. The bathrooms were fully redesigned and renovated, now featuring mosaic tiles that pay tribute to the hotel’s historical elegance.

The goal was to provide an exclusive service with exclusive decoration.

Luxury and Eclecticism

As was already the case, the Palace offered different types of rooms and suites with varied decors and atmospheres. This approach was preserved. Interiors were customised so that each room became unique.

Mosaics, pastel colours, armchairs, objects with subtle, sleek lines, noble fabrics, wall hangings, delicate floral prints… All the rooms contain the codes that created the establishment’s identity. These elements were preserved and reinterpreted with a contemporary eye.

It was an update of the contemporary spirit that, since its creation, has characterised the architectural identity of the Connoisseurs’ Hotel. Again, a good part of the furniture was designed by the design office: console tables, desks, and a bar created for the future Duplex Suite. In the first phase, the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo redesigned 44 rooms to offer 33 new rooms, unveiled in spring. Among them, the Duplex Suite stands out, with its stunning view and its desk—a nod to the modern woman.

It’s a new way to rediscover the most elegant hotel in Monaco and to explore new venues, such as L’Abysse Monte-Carlo – Yannick Alléno, which has just been awarded its second Michelin star.
