Coral Expeditions has launched a new series of four- and six-night small ship voyages called Coastal Adventures, with the shorter, more flexible adventure product aimed at a “new generation of explorers”.

The Coastal Adventures itineraries will start in Tasmania on 4 January 2026, with additional voyages in the Great Barrier Reef and Western Australia, including Margaret River, launching from October 2026.

The experiences have been designed to appeal to active guests seeking access to some of Australia’s most pristine and remote natural places, while offering them the freedom to explore and choose daily activities “at one’s own pace”.

“It opens up a wonderful opportunity for busy working professionals, couples, solo travellers and even families to play, escape, unwind and enrich in some of our favourite places,” said Coral Expeditions CEO Mark Fifield.

“Exploring coastlines by small ship is an unrivalled experience – much like staying at the very best wilderness lodge but with the bonus of waking each day at a different destination.”

Destinations will include wilderness areas such as Adventure Bay, Bruny Island, and Wineglass Bay in Tasmania; Sudbury Cay and Hinchinbrook Island in Queensland; and Margaret River, Cape Naturaliste, and Augusta on the West Australian coast.

The voyages will focus on connection with both nature and fellow travellers, with full days amid the landscapes and a relaxed, flexible itinerary. Activities include nature walks in national parks and on pristine beaches, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding, snorkel and dive adventures as well as self-guided walks and shopping in local townships. Optional add-ons include scenic flights, food and wine trail tours, and cycle hire.

Evenings will offer dark sky nocturnal experiences, including guided star gazing and wildlife spotting. Meanwhile culinary experiences onboard will showcase regional specialities with menus fully prepared onboard and inspired by the best regional produce. Dining times will be flexible with picnic-style Adventurer meal packs available for guests heading ashore.

Each voyage will begin with a memorable sailaway soiree event and will feature a seafood and barbecue night.
