A collection of pre- and post-journey Destination Immersions will complement Explora Journeys‘ debut season of Alaska itineraries aboard EXPLORA III, set to launch during the northern hemisphere summer 2027.
The new land-based experiences are designed to deepen guests’ connection with the landscapes and cultural heritage of Alaska and Western Canada. These journeys, lasting three to five nights, include deluxe rail travel, nature encounters, cultural experiences and exclusive culinary moments.
“These Destination Immersions reflect our commitment to offering immersive luxury travel that extends beyond the ship,” said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys.
“They allow our guests to explore in greater depth, with intention and authenticity, and to connect more profoundly with the places they visit.”

Alaska pre-journey options departing from Seward include the Alaska Immersion (three nights), taking guests via deluxe dome rail and motorcoach through Anchorage, Denali, and Talkeetna, culminating with a visit to the Iditarod Headquarters. The Alaskan Adventure (four nights) offers a broader scope, from Fairbanks to Girdwood, with “gold-standard” rail experiences, and wildlife encounters.
Post-Journey experiences include Encounter Alaska’s Soul (three nights), which features dog-sledding and Tundra Wilderness Tours, and Into the Alaskan Wilderness (four nights), linking Denali National Park with wildlife conservation and sled dog culture, ending in Fairbanks.
For guests travelling through Vancouver, the Canadian Rockies itineraries aboard the iconic Rocky Mountaineer is part of the offering. The five-night Pre-Journey westbound route travels from Calgary to Vancouver via Banff and Kamloops, offering gondola rides over Sulphur Mountain, and fine dining in stunning settings. The eastbound Post-Journey mirrors this route in reverse.
“These experiences are designed to complement and elevate the overall Explora Journeys experience—seamlessly blending land and sea into one continuous, meaningful narrative,” added Nash.
