A surge in demand from the Meetings and Events (MICE) sector prompted Club Med to host a famil last month at the newly renovated Club Med Phuket.
This was the brand’s first famil of its kind in three years and comes as business volume sits 30% higher than 2019.
The event brought together seven carefully selected industry leaders, including Professional Conference Organisers, incentive houses, event specialists and travel advisors.
Club Med Pacific Head of Meetings and Events Julie Voultepsis explained the intention behind the initiative.
“The purpose of the famil was to deliver a fully immersive experience that goes far beyond a typical site inspection — designed to showcase Club Med’s all-inclusive difference, highlight our unique event potential including our three newly renovated meeting rooms at Club Med Phuket, demonstrate how business and leisure seamlessly integrate and highlight what truly sets us apart in the market,” she said.

Throughout the famil, participants experienced the full spectrum of Club Med’s offering — from morning wellness sessions and gourmet dining to cultural excursions and hands-on brand engagement. A dedicated conference session, an interactive workshop on Club Med’s global Meetings & Events offering and a property inspection rounded out the itinerary.
Attendees also enjoyed bespoke local experiences, including a private cocktail masterclass at a local rum distillery and an authentic Thai dining experience at Blue Elephant, showcasing how Club Med blends cultural immersion with corporate needs.
“The famil was a huge success creating a shift in perception amongst attendees,” Voultepsis said. “Guests left informed, but also inspired, energised and aligned with our vision for events done differently.”
This activation follows the brand’s upscale transition completed in April 2024 and precedes the opening of Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari in July 2026.
The group included: Julie Voultepsis, Club Med; Joey Templin, Club Med; Christian Blondeau, Travel at Leisure; Tomasina Boone, Club Med; Cassie Jinks, Sanford Travel; Manveer Ramdhian, Club Med; Rachel Cleary, Savenio; Jo Meredith, Fortis Event – New Zealand; Michelle Lehn, Travel Managers; Kelly Friswell, Conference Well; and Shane Miles, Totem Connections.
