Viking has opened bookings for its 2027 and 2028 ocean and expedition voyages, with the program featuring the inaugural itineraries for its new ocean ship Viking Lyra, due for delivery in 2028.

The new vessel will debut in the Mediterranean and Scandinavia, with a similar design to its sister ships with all-veranda staterooms.

The sailings also include a new Antarctica itinerary entitles Into the Antarctic Circle. Setting sail from Buenos Aires and finishing up in Ushuaia, the voyage visits two countries over 15 days and is priced from $22,695 per person. It will allow travellers to cross the 66°33′ line of latitude – described as “an honoured milestone among polar explorers.” Scientific discovery will be enhanced by resident experts from the University of Cambridge’s Scott Polar Research Institute and Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

“Our guests are curious travellers who like to connect with the destinations they visit in a meaningful way,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking.

“We have always crafted journeys that are designed to bring our guests closer to history, culture and nature in each destination—and we are pleased to offer an even wider selection of itineraries and departure dates in the years to come.”
