Azamara Cruises has issued an urgent warning to its network of travel advisors regarding a recent uptick in scam activity involving individuals impersonating company staff.
In an email, the cruise line stressed the vital role of its partners in safeguarding guests and maintaining trust.
“We have recently become aware of a scammer impersonating Azamara Cruises to collect personal or financial information by posing as our customer service or sales agents,” the company stated. “These individuals are not affiliated with Azamara Cruises in any way and are using deceptive tactics to mislead guests.”
According to the alert, scammers are contacting guests by phone, pretending to be Azamara representatives.
“They may request payment for ‘missing fees,’ offer fake refunds, or claim urgent travel alerts,” the email noted. “Calls may appear to come from toll-free numbers similar to ours.”

Azamara provided clear guidance for travel advisors on how to protect themselves and their clients. Among the measures suggested to counter such activity, the company warned advisors to: never confirm or share guest information unless the caller’s identity is verified through official channels; report suspicious calls or guest complaints immediately using its official contact methods; train employees to identify scam tactics and escalate concerns immediately.
Guests should also be reminded that Azamara Cruises will never request payment or sensitive information via unsolicited calls, especially after full payment has been made.
The cruise line also encouraged advisors to remind clients of key precautions: to avoid posting details about upcoming cruises publicly, including boarding passes or stateroom numbers; to be cautious when receiving unexpected calls claiming to be from Azamara Cruises; and to contact their travel advisor if in doubt.
Azamara highlighted the safety and security of its guests as a top priority, and underscored the role its trade partners play in helping to prevent fraud and misinformation.
