Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs has confirmed he will step down as the leader of the hospitality brand after more than 13 years in order to pursue a “new adventure”.

Jacobs joined Six Senses in late 2012 when Pegasus Capital Advisors bought the Thailand-based brand. At that time, it comprised eight properties. In 2019, the company was acquired by InterContinental Hotels Group. The portfolio now stands at 26, with an additional 30 properties in the pipeline.

“I am incredibly proud of how far we have come,” Jacobs said. “But what matters most to me are the people: my colleagues, partners, and mentors who brought this vision to life with passion, creativity, and courage. You’ve shaped me in ways I’ll carry forward always, and made this chapter not just memorable, but truly transformative.”

He described leading Six Senses as “one of the greatest privileges” of his career.

“From the start, we set out to create something different: a brand rooted in purpose and guided by the belief that hospitality can be both deeply meaningful and genuinely regenerative,” he said. “We didn’t just build hotels, we built a culture where sustainability, wellness, design, and experience were always in service of something greater.”

While details of his next move will be revealed soon, Jacobs confirmed it will be within the arena of hospitality. “I’ll soon be announcing a new venture, one that feels like a return to my own wild origins,” he said. “A chance to explore fresh ideas, challenge assumptions, and collaborate with kindred spirits who believe, as I do, that hospitality can be a force for good.”
