Delta Air Lines will launch new routes from the US Northwest corner to Europe from next year, announcing new flights from Seattle to both Barcelona and Rome. The push comes alongside the debut of new premier lounges at Seattle Tacoma International Airport; the previously announced Delta One Lounge and Delta Sky Club.
The added impetus from Seattle comes as rival Alaska Airlines prepares to ramp up its operation from Seattle, part of its oneworld footprint expansion.
In addition to the new nonstop Barcelona and Rome routes, Delta has locked in priority access to 18 gates across Concourses A and B at Seattle-Tacoma, streamlining the carriers operation at the port.

Delta’s Seattle-Rome route will operate four times weekly, while Seattle-Barcelona will be three times per week, commencing 6 May and 7 May 2026 respectively. Flights will be operated by Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, featuring the carrier’s premium cabin experiences – Delta One and Delta Premium Select.
“Delta’s commitment runs deep in Seattle, from our people on the ground to our global ambitions in the skies,” said Glen Hauenstein, President of Delta Air Lines. “With new international service and the opening of our Delta One Lounge, we’re investing in what matters most to our customers—exceptional, premium experiences—and reinforcing our role as Seattle’s largest global carrier.”
The US carrier has launched 28 new markets in Seattle over the past decade and now operates nearly 180 peak-day departures to 60+ global destinations. Through Delta’s global alliances, customers have access to hundreds more across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
