Legendary hotel brand The Langham Hotels and Resorts is about to turn 160 years old and the celebration plans are in overdrive ranging from a fresh new twist on the traditional Battenberg cake to the introduction of signature pink all-electric Lucid Air house cars.

The anniversary, commemorated on 10 June – the opening date of The Langham, London in 1865 – pays tribute to the brand’s legacy as “Europe’s first Grand Hotel” and a pioneer of luxury hospitality.

“The 160th anniversary of The Langham is not just a milestone for our namesake, but for the luxury hospitality world at large,” said Langham Hospitality Group CEO Bob van den Oord. “In recognition, we’ve created some truly extravagant guest offerings across the brand’s global portfolio.”

Chief among the new offerings is the Langham Legacies Package, a six-night transatlantic experience spanning New York and London. Guests enjoy a stay in the Empire State Penthouse Suite, a sommelier-led dinner, and a cocktail reception atop the Empire State Building, before jetting to London via private plane for indulgences like a private Tower Bridge dinner and a session with Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux.

Other anniversary experiences include: a two-night stay in Langham Hong Kong’s Chairman Suite with Bentley transfer, guided culinary market tour, and dinner at three-Michelin-starred T’ang Court; Langham Melbourne’s helicopter tour for Chairman Suite guests over the Great Ocean Road and gourmet seaside dining; Langham Sydney’s sunset yacht cruise and in-suite fine dining in the Observatory Suite; and Langham Gold Coast’s offer of spa treatments, yacht charters, and degustation dinners for those staying in the Chairman Suite.

From 10 to 30 June 2025, guests at any Langham property worldwide can toast 160 years of unforgettable moments with The Langham Royale Punch – a playful, elegant drink inspired by the brand’s heritage that is served complimentary to bar patrons during the daily Golden Hour from 5pm to 6pm at all properties.Guests can also enjoy the brand’s specially reimagined Battenberg Cake – a refined twist on the classic British teatime favourite. Created exclusively for the anniversary, the modernised version nods to The Langham’s Victorian origins while showcasing the culinary creativity of its chefs worldwide.

The celebrations extend beyond luxury. The Langham Pink Run, a global initiative supporting charities in health, education, and sustainability, is expected to involve 1,600 participants. “We’re giving back to the many communities that have supported us over the years,” said van den Oord.

Meanwhile, over in the US, The Langham is partnering with Lucid Motors to introduce signature pink all-electric Lucid Air house cars at The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue and The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, Los Angeles ahead of the big milestone. Guests at the two iconic hotels will be able to enjoy plush and environmentally friendly rides in these sleek, state-of-the-art electric vehicles during their stays, taking sustainable luxury to new heights of elegance.“As we prepare to mark 160 years of luxury hospitality and forward-thinking for The Langham next month, we welcome this chance to highlight the brand’s heritage and innovative spirit,” said Langham Hospitality Group Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing Lawrence Ng.

“Our signature pink Lucid Air house cars both honour The Langham’s past and accelerate its journey to the future.”

The New York and Los Angeles properties are the first The Langham hotels to offer the pink Lucid Air house cars, marking what may be the start of a broader rollout across the brand’s portfolio in the coming months.
