Explora Journeys will sail to Alaska for the first time, with the addition of the popular destination among a trifecta of firsts for the cruise line in its new Summer 2027 program.

Under the new program’s banner “An Ocean of New”, EXPLORA III will sail a series of voyages departing from Vancouver, Canada which will explore Alaska from a “unique perspective”. The “soul-stirring” encounters will take in the glaciers, rivers, forests and wildlife of the destination with some of the activities on offer including hiking, dogsledding, skiing and boating.

The Alaskan launch was flagged exclusively by LATTE in September 2024.

Highlight journeys of the Alaskan 2027 summer season on board EXPLORA III include: A Journey Through Untamed Landscapes & Coastal Treasures, Vancouver to Vancouver from 10 to 21 May 2027 with visits to Sitka, Prince Rupert, and the remote beauty of Endicott Arm; An Extended Journey Across Alaska’s Wild Frontier, Vancouver to Vancouver from 2 to 16 July 2027 taking in the Hubbard Glacier, the historic charm of Kodiak and the Indigenous heritage of Alert Bay.

The cruise line will also introduce visits to maiden ports in the Mediterranean and welcome the launch of new ship, EXPLORA IV.

“With the intention of savouring every moment, our Summer 2027 journeys have been thoughtfully crafted, as always, to enable flexibility, extended stays and deeper immersion at a gentler pace,” says Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys. “We are thrilled to be introducing Alaska for the very first time and to be offering many of our 2027 journeys on two of our ultra-elegant new ships, EXPLORA III and IV.”

LNG-powered EXPLORA IV has been designed for “elevated elegance”, with redesigned spaces, enhanced comfort and an even greater sense of space. The vessel will sail itineraries encompassing Western and Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland, US & Canada East Coast and New England.

Meanwhile, Explora I and II will sail more familiar Mediterranean waters with a few new ports thrown in for good measure. The vessels will explore the contrasting aspects of the region’s east and west with more than 60 journeys available. New Adriatic ports include Croatia’s Trogir and Slovenia’s Toper.
