A partnership between IHG Hotels & Resorts and Strategic Alliance will see the InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa open in 2028, when it will become the wine region’s first luxury branded hotel.
Subject to planning approval, the 150-room property will be set amid the hills and vineyards of the Barossa, offering guests sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.

“For the first time, the Barossa will boast a globally branded luxury hotel that will serve as an indelible beacon for guests seeking an unparalleled level of luxury and sophistication. Underpinned by stunning architecture and complemented by one of the world’s most recognised brands, InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa will be the perfect destination for wine lovers, gastronomes, and luxury escapists.”

Meanwhile, David Cook, Director of Strategic Alliance, expressed his gratitude for IHG’s “shared vision” in this project.

The resort will feature a 130-seat signature restaurant, a lounge bar, a garden terrace, and the exclusive Club InterContinental. Guests can also enjoy a comprehensive day spa, fitness centre, scenic walking trails, and modern conference spaces.
Wit h this new property, IHG is reinforcing its focus on growing its presence in the region. In the Australasia Pacific luxury and lifestyle segment, the hotel giant has 22 open hotels and nine in its pipeline.
