The latest property from Auberge Resorts Collection, Collegio alla Querce in Florence, Italy, is a 16th-century landmark, set on a hillside overlooking the UNESCO-listed Centro Storico. The property was signed by Auberge Collection in 2021 and has been given a complete overhaul
Combining the allure of an urban retreat with the tranquility of a Tuscan country estate, the hotel offers sweeping views of Florence’s architectural wonders and the hills of Tuscany, creating a unique perspective on the region’s rich cultural heritage.
“We are delighted to expand our brand presence in Europe with the debut of Collegio alla Querce, our first property in Italy,” said Christian Clerc, President and CEO Auberge Resorts Collection.
He described Florence as “one of Europe’s most historic and treasured cities,” emphasising the property’s significance as “an integral part of the fabric of this globally beloved city.”

The property has a storied past, having served as a centre of learning for more than a century. The transformation into a luxury hotel, led by Analjit Singh, owner of Leeu Collection, honours the history of the space while introducing modern luxury.
General Manager Lorenzo Maraviglia added: “We are honoured to reintroduce Collegio alla Querce to Florence as a property that encapsulates the essence of the Renaissance city through its dynamic design, curated experiences, and unparalleled service.”
The hotel features 49 guest rooms, 28 suites and six grand suites, all designed to blend Auberge’s signature style with the building’s original features. Culinary offerings range from the fine dining restaurant La Gamella to the historic Bar Bertelli, housed in the former principal’s office. The Aelia Spa, in partnership with Furtuna Skin, provides a unique wellness experience, offering treatments inspired by Tuscany’s natural environment.
This opening marks a continued expansion for Auberge Resorts Collection, with future properties slated for London and Miami Beach.
