Lufthansa has expanded the route options for its top-of-the-line Allegris seats. Effective 30 March, the new cabin will become available on long-haul routes from Munich to San Diego, to Newark (from mid-April) and to Charlotte (from early August).

The new routes follow the roll-out of the new First Class Allegris suites on flights from Munich to San Francisco, Chicago, and to Bengaluru.

Guests who have already reserved their seats on these routes will receive a free upgrade to the Allegris cabin.

Heiko Reitz, Chief Customer Officer Lufthansa Airlines, said since the launch of its Airbus A350-900s featuring the Allegris suite, Lufthansa’s satisfaction rating in Business Class has soared “well over 90 percent”.

“We currently have nine A350-900s with Allegris on board at Lufthansa, six of which already offer our customers the new, highly exclusive First Class. Overall, our new cabin equipment is extremely popular with guests,” Reitz said.

When booking in Business Class, the Classic Seat is free of charge. This offers all the advantages of the new Allegris travel class. Optionally, passengers can also book seats with additional comfort (the Business Class Suite, the Extra Space Seat with extra space, the Privacy Seat by the window and the Extra Long Bed with a 2.20 metre lying surface) in advance for an additional charge via the seat reservation.

Travellers can choose between the Privacy Seat and the Extra Long Bed from just 100 euros and the Extra Space Seat from 130 euros.

The Lufthansa Business Class Suite is characterised by higher walls, sliding doors, more personal space and a monitor up to 68 centimetres in size.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa Airlines is further expanding the premium service for its passengers. In cooperation with AirPortr, Lufthansa is now offering all travellers from Frankfurt an innovative baggage collection and check-in service. Guests can have their suitcases and bags collected from home or the hotel. The luggage is then sealed, brought to the airport and checked in there. Travellers receive real-time updates via a personalised tracking link and a digital baggage tag receipt.

The initiative means passengers can travel to the airport without heavy check-in luggage and go straight to the security check there – they only collect their luggage again at their destination.

The new premium service saves time, is convenient and makes travel easier, especially by public transport.

Guests can now book the new offer on lufthansa.com up to 36 hours before departure. It is available to customers from the greater Frankfurt, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Hanau, Aschaffenburg, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Darmstadt and Bensheim areas. Further expansion is planned in the near future.

“We want to continuously improve the entire travel experience of our guests and further expand our premium offers – during the flight, but also on the ground,” Reitz added.

“With the new pick-up and check-in offer, we are offering our passengers another exclusive service that is unique in Germany,” he said.
