The Scenic Group held its first Night of Stars awards event since February 2020 at the weekend, with the event’s revival a celebration of record-breaking sales in 2024 as well as the industry’s triumphant return to form.
More than 300 of the travel industry’s leading consortia, travel advisors and consultants, attended the 9th Annual Night of Stars event on Saturday 8 February 2025 at the W Hotel, Sydney.
Scenic Group General Manager Sales & Marketing APAC Anthony Laver congratulated Scenic and Emerald Cruises & Tours’ valued travel partners from Australia & New Zealand on their achievements and stellar sales in 2024.
“On behalf of all the management team, we congratulate all the finalists our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening,” he said. “The continued growth and success of our travel partners are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to achieving even greater milestones together in 2025 and beyond.”

Huge strides made since the last event was held in 2020 were demonstrated by a spike in the number of agencies awarded diamond status – recognition of each partner agency that has sold from $1 million up to $10 million in gross revenue during the calendar year. The number rose from 12 in 2020 to 46 this year.
The group’s evolution since the last event was highlighted, with both Scenic and sister brand Emerald Cruises launching a series of ultra-luxury yacht products in that time. Updates were also shared about the future expansion of the Scenic Group fleet, which includes two new Emerald Cruises ships set to launch in 2026, with the upcoming luxury super yacht, Emerald Kaia and the Emerald Astra Star-Ship, which will sail along the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers.
Founder & Chairman Glen Moroney was unable to attend due to work commitments, but he extended his congratulations to all National and State Category winners via a personal video message. “We had a record year last year, and this year is going to be even bigger, and of course, we’re going to stack the planks in the future,” he said.
