The fifth year of PONANT’s collaboration with Smithsonian Journeys will see an expanded line-up, with the introduction of seven new journeys among the 36 co-branded sailings for 2026.

Combining PONANT’s maritime nous with Smithsonian’s prowess as a cultural and educational institution, the program has been designed to reflect both parties’ commitment to promoting “global citizenship through immersive travel experiences”.

PONANT’s 2026 Smithsonian Journeys will feature two expert lecturers per sailing, offering in-depth insights into the history, environment and culture of each destination.

New itineraries include the 10-night Madagascar and Seychelles journey which departs on 7 January 2026 to explore Madagascar’s endemic wildlife and Seychelles’ iconic beaches, priced from AU$14,360.

Another newcomer is the two-week Coastal Vietnam by Sea, priced from AU$16,260, which departs on 8 February 2026 calling at four UNESCO World Heritage sites, cultural performances, and local markets.
