Disney’s newest ship, Disney Treasure, is warming up for its first official voyage, having been delivered ahead of schedule.
The 4,000-passenger vessel, the second in Disney’s Wish class, arrived in homeport Port Canaveral, Florida for the first time in mid-November before heading up to its christening event in New York on 20 November. It is currently located in the Bahamas, according to Cruisemapper.com.
Although originally scheduled to set sail in 2025, the early completion of the ship by German shipbuilder Meyer Werft has meant its program has been pulled forward.
Its first voyage, the seven-night cruise of its inaugural Caribbean season, had a departure date of 21 December confirmed by the cruise line, although the earliest sailing showing on its website is 28 December.
Disney Treasure is part of a multi-year expansion of Disney’s fleet, which currently includes six ships and seven more ships on the way by 2031.
Meanwhile early bookings have opened for Disney Adventure’s program of voyages from Singapore for members of the Castaway Club. The general public will be able to book from 10 December. Adventure’s first cruise will set sail on 15 December 2025.
