Culture is on the menu at ME Malta, with the first Maltese property under the ME by Melia brand having just opened its doors. Located in the seaside town of St. Julians on the island’s north-eastern coastline, the hotel has been designed in ME’s signature avant-garde style by renowned architect Zara Hadid as part of the Mercury Towers development.

It represents ME by Melia’s second collaboration with Hadid who also worked on ME Dubai with opened in 2020.

“One of Europe’s most celebrated capitals of culture and leading LGBTQ+ destinations, Malta is perfectly aligned with the ME by Meliá brand,” the hotel group said.

The striking property is set across 20 floors, with 113 rooms, 27 suites and 35 residences. The 8th floor is home to a rooftop, poolside beach club Cabana Collective with views across the coastline and a modern Mediterranean menu. Another restaurant, Luciano by Gino D’Acampo, is serving Italian fare.

More is yet to come, with the property’s Radio Rooftop bar to open in early 2025, offering Asian sharing plates and cocktails, with the spa also set to open around the same time.

The hotel is also part of ME by Meliá’s wider ‘Culture Collective’ program, whereby guests can take part in a curated calendar of events including showcases from local artists and musical performances.

Meanwhile, the brand continues to expand into Europe’s cultural capitals with ME Lisbon next on the cards. The newcomer will open its doors in 2025.
