Flight Centre Travel Group‘s luxury retail brands had a strong presence at CLIA Australia’s recent Cruise360 event, with many interstate members of the Luxury Travel Collection making their way to Sydney for the event.
Danielle Galloway, Global Managing Director – Luxury & Independent, for Flight Centre Travel Group told LATTE “Cruise360 is a priority date on the Flight Centre Travel Group calendar.”
“We sell cruise across every pillar in the Group, so of course it’s important for the brand to be well represented,” said Rachel Kingswell, GM Travel Associates Australia and New Zealand.
Galloway and Kingswell both participated in the River Cruise Showcase held the day prior to Cruise360, and the executive roundtable at NSW Parliament House earlier that morning. That meeting highlighted the challenges facing the cruise industry with government officials.

Kingswell said that having a united voice (alongside other major players) on topics impacting the cruise sector was a fabulous initiative and commended CLIA Australasia for the strategy.
“It was great addition to the agenda and the standout,” Kingswell noted.
“With so much new inventory coming into market, as an industry, we all have to come together to work through those challenges to enable the industry to continue to grow,” Galloway said.
“It was a proud moment to share one common vision, purpose and goal – centred on growing the industry.”
“We walked away with huge confidence with what CLIA is doing from an industry perspective, but also from a political perspective around cruise, which will only put us in good stead.”
Galloway continued: “No matter what brand, whether it be LTC, whether it’s Flight Centre Travel Group, we will pushing hard to support the work of CLIA, because CLIA is supporting the industry incredibly well. We will be behind that initiative going forward, making sure we have great representation.”
Kingswell also added that CLIA’s half-day River Cruise Showcase was a valuable addition to the 2024 program. “With so much new capacity around the world, and more coming, and river cruise brands like AmaWaterways establishing a presence in Australia, this was a great way to spotlight this burgeoning sector of the cruise industry.”
