Six Senses has celebrated a slew of awards reflecting its out-of-the-ordinary locations and its hosts’ high-energy, high-touch, and high-empathy commitment.

Reviewing the list, Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs commented, “These latest awards are a huge tribute to all our hosts and owners around the world and how they continue to offer our loyal guests exceptional experiences that help them reconnect mentally, physically, and spiritually. They spur us on to push beyond the boundaries, to be bold and different, act on our imagination, create more than just places to stay and stand for something.”

Six Senses operates 23 hotels and resorts in 18 countries and has signed 39 properties into the development pipeline with a commitment to community, sustainability, emotional hospitality, wellness, and crafted experiences. Whether an exquisite island resort, mountain retreat, or urban hotel, the vision remains: to reawaken people’s senses.

The Best for Six Senses Ibiza

As the first sustainable BREEAM-certified resort in the Balearics, Six Senses Ibiza features in the world’s 50 Best Hotels hot list for “a seamless blend of well-being and sustainability alongside impeccable five-star service.” Also noted are the tailored wellness programs and treatments “cover everything from functional fitness to anti-aging and multi-day immersive retreats.”

Six Senses Ibiza is the place to celebrate music, art, sustainable fashion, wellness and spirituality, which have become synonymous with the island. Two Scoops for Six Senses Rome

Just announced, Six Senses Rome (main image) features in the 2023 Architectural Digest Hotel Award, applauding how architect and art director Patricia Urquiola restored the 15th-century Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini by diving into the history of the Eternal City, “layering travertine, cocciopesto, and mosaics into verdant spaces that evoke tranquil gardens.”

The Roman baths (encompassing a caldarium, tepidarium, and frigidarium) and wellness offerings also caught the eye of the Forbes 10 Best Hotels in Rome 2023 to win the gong for “Best Spa and Wellness Hotel in Rome”.

Kudos to the Sustainability Team at Six Senses Zighy Bay

Flanked by Oman’s northern Musandam mountains rising from the Arabian Gulf, Six Senses Zighy Bay has just been endorsed as the Sustainability Team of the Year Award by Hotelier Middle East. General Manager Andrew Spearman is resolute that “there’s no hiding from sustainable travel and eco-tourism or waiting to see how it evolves. It is something the hospitality sector simply has to embrace now.”

With sustainability a key decision factor for guests, Six Senses Zighy Bay incorporates social and environmental responsibility from the skies to the seas. Double in the Desert for Six Senses Shaharut

In addition to winning the La Liste – Special Awards Hotels 2023 in the Ethical & Sustainable category, Six Senses Shaharut features in the 2023 Men’s Health Travel Awards. “With hard, rocky desert extending in every direction and Jordan’s granite mountains in the distance, the views here are otherworldly. But, true to the Six Senses brand, the wellness-forward offerings are world-class. Check in. Lose yourself, then find yourself again.”

Podium Position for Six Senses Douro Valley

Travel + Leisure Readers’ 25 Favorite Hotel Brands of 2023 was published in July, with Six Senses proving its popularity again among readers and Six Senses Douro Valley placing second in the Spain and Portugal category. “It’s obvious that travellers are craving a great escape from the day-to-day grind, ready to trade it all in for pure, uninterrupted relaxation.”

Celebrations All Round at Six Senses Krabey Island

“Cambodia has emerged from the pandemic with a new face and focus, with sustainable and community-based travel being pushed nationwide.” So says Travel + Leisure in its Luxury Awards Asia Pacific roundup, with readers awarding Six Senses Krabey Island in multiple categories, including the top spot for “Best Hotel Spas in Cambodia”.

Rajasthani Rewards for Six Senses Fort Barwara

Creating a good hotel, Mark Twain wrote, “is an art apart,” and Town & Country’s 2023 selection recognizes the best, most “artful” new places. Six Senses Fort Barwara features its Rajasthani modern suites, spa for the sporty and spiritually inclined, and magical views of the Aravali Hills. “There’s a lot of genuflecting to ‘doing good’ these days. Six Senses really works with local artisans. Good for them.”

Just In: Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards

The Readers’ Choice Awards reflect what the audience of Condé Nast Traveler in the US and its sister title in the UK loves, remains loyal to, and can’t wait to experience again within every travel sector. Featuring in the top 10 for their regions are Six Senses Zighy Bay (#4 Middle East), Six Senses Fiji (#8 Australia & Pacific), and Six Senses Yao Noi (#10 Asia – Thailand).
