The National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs) 2022 gala brought the best and brightest travel professionals together under one roof in Sydney on Saturday night, marking a moment of unity and recognition of the shared purpose in celebrating the challenges overcome and travel success that lies ahead.

Nearly 1,200 travel professionals and businesses descended on the International Convention Centre’s Grand Ballroom for the NTIA ceremony, which was backed by Major Sponsor, Singapore Airlines.

Dean Long, CEO of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (which conducts the NTIA) opened the gala with an address that set the tone for the evening, with a heartfelt rallying call for everyone to remember the support they provided over the past two years; to clients, to the travel industry, and to each other.

As the night progressed through the hotly contested categories guests enjoyed the entertainment, the glitz and the opportunity to be together.

“The NTIAs 2022 was truly a night to remember. This is in no small part due to the high calibre of entries we received and the exemplary support travel professionals provided to their clients this year,” Long said.

“Events of the scale the NTIAs 2022 celebration do not just happen. On behalf of everyone I thank the hardworking AFTA team and the generous support of our sponsors for helping us realise our vision for this event.”

“Our resilient travel community is our greatest strength, and moving forward AFTA will continue our focus on harnessing the skills and expertise across our network to benefit our industry, our clients and our businesses.”

“Judging by some of the stories we heard about on the night, I know the travel industry will continue rising to overcome any challenges, just as we have already done over the course of the pandemic,” Long added.
