The Bürgenstock Selection portfolio includes Switzerland’s historic Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne, the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & THE SPA and the Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne. Headquartered in the city of Zug, The Bürgenstock Selection is Switzerland’s largest deluxe hotel group, owning and operating Hotels and Residences with a combined total of 678 rooms and 67 residence suites. Following their complete renovation, the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & THE SPA, and the Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne dazzle guests from all over the world with their elegant, contemporary design, while remaining completely true to the timeless Swiss traditions of hospitality, service and discretion. First class Swiss hospitality, luxuriously appointed facilities and a stylish symbiosis of the traditional and modern: all three establishments under the Bürgenstock Selection banner excel in terms of high standards of exclusive service and each possesses distinctive characteristics.

Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne

Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne is the signature property of the portfolio. The property includes the five-star superior Bürgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa; the five-star Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence; the four-star superior Palace Hotel, a 1903 Belle Époque jewel; and the three-star, 12-room inn Taverne 1879.

Sitting 500 metres above Lake Lucerne, the resort blends the glamour of the Art Nouveau period with modern architecture and state-of-the-art facilities. Boasting eight restaurants, lounges and bars; 67 private residence suites; a 9,940-square-metre spa; three tennis courts; a nine-hole alpine golf course; and nearly 70 kilometres of hiking and biking trails, the resort is the ideal escape in the Swiss Alps.

Conceived and designed by renowned Italian architect Matteo Thun, The Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence is an exclusive five-star property with an emphasis on wellness. With 137 rooms and suites ensconced among enchanting alpine scenery, it is the perfect spot to relax, recuperate and replenish. Here, guests can avail themselves of a panoply of services designed to achieve optimum health and wellness that go well beyond your traditional spa experience. Services on offer include nutritional advice, sports medicine and fitness, internal medicine, dermatology, and even dentistry.

The legendary Palace Hotel exudes fin-de-siècle charm and elegant ambiance, and a recent remodelling project in 2017 seamlessly combined this a 100-year legacy with contemporary sophistication. Its 109 rooms and suites combine the best of both worlds with stunning views of the surrounding natural scenery. Guests here can also experience Michelin-starred contemporary French cuisine by Chef Marc Haeberlin.

A stay at Taverne 1879 promises a quintessentially Swiss experience. This quaint chalet offers rustic and cosy accommodations with modern amenities, unique local cuisine experiences, and beautiful natural scenery.

The Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & THE SPA

The Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & THE SPA has been a landmark hotel in Switzerland’s seat of national government for 160 years. The property has won countless accolades, from making the Robb Report‘s prestigious “Top 100 City Hotels of the World” list, to several Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence, to 14 Gault Millau points. Its accommodations have been graced by legendary movie stars, like Grace Kelly and Peter Ustinov, and, more recently, legendary footballers like Diego Maradona and the entire Manchester United team. The hotel offers 99 rooms and suites with a distinctive decor that speaks of the hotel’s storied past while being elegantly contemporary. An 800-square-metre conference centre with 11 halls and rooms — including the legendary Trianon ballroom — can accommodate any kind of event needs, from business conferences to unforgettable wedding receptions. Jack’s Brasserie restaurant, which has been awarded 14 Gault Millau points, harks back to an era of glamour and romance with its fin de siècle stylings. Guests can also retire to Schweizerhof’s cigar lounge or take in stunning city skyline views over a craft cocktail at Sky Terrace. For a relaxing treatment or an invigorating workout, Schweizerhof’s THE SPA boasts 500 square metres of floor space and includes a pamper pool, sauna, hammam, fitness centre and treatment rooms.

The city itself offers endless opportunities for discovery. Dating back to the year 1191, Bern’s old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, replete with medieval architecture and cobblestoned streets. Albert Einstein lived in this neighbourhood for a time. His home is now open to the public, and visitors can see where the ground-breaking physicist developed the theory of relativity. Bern’s Rose Garden is also a site not to be missed. Home to hundreds of varieties of roses and other flowers, it is a popular place for snapping panoramic photos of Bern.

The Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne

The Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne is a spectacular Art Nouveau style five-star hotel beside beautiful Lake Geneva in the heart of Lausanne. This landmark of luxury and style complemented by an elegant new design that shines through every one of its 196 rooms and suites. The property is distinguished among other Lausanne hotels for having the city’s largest ballroom. Its Sky Lounge Restaurant & Bar features 360-degree views of the city and Lake Geneva.
